• Emmanuel leads research at the intersection of design interactions, health, wellbeing and technology at the ImaginationLancaster research lab. He conducts interdisciplinary nary research on how we can improve the quality of life and wellbeing of people into old age, including people with chronic health problems.
  • Emmanuel research mission is to work with diverse communities to develop new ways about health, wellbeing and ageing well to create a “culture for health” that is knitted into everyday community life.
  • He is currently working with the public and policy stakeholders to co-design health policies that promote population health and wellbeing, using speculative design. Also a co-editor of the Routledge Design for Healthcare book and blogs regularly for The Guardian and The Conversation on the design and use of technology in Health.
