- David is a Postdoctoral Fellow at United Nations University International Institute for Global Health. He uses systems approaches to explore complex and interconnected issues in sustainability and urban health and facilitate interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral discussions. He also works on implementation research, exploring how intervention programmes interact with their contexts for success and failure.
- David is currently working on the development and use of systems thinking case studies for participatory engagement, sense-making, communication, and policy impact. Applications include understanding the development of the Malaysian health system in response to past problems and how this affects its responses to current challenges, learning processes in social-environmental co-design for public health, and policy interactions in water utility financing and in school nutrition.
